2nd Engineer Association Loses One of Its Greatest Heroes

It was with a sad heart that I received the news that Gino Piazza passed away on July 2nd, 2010. He was the 2nd Engineer Association's President from its inception in 1996 until he stepped down earlier this year. For 14 years he helped spearhead the association of this great battalion. When I served as VP, Secretary, Treasurer and Editor, he was always cheerful and always asked how my family was doing. He was a great man, whose contributions to the battalion during the Korean War are captured in Arden Rowley's History of the 2nd Engineers in Korea, and David Halberstam's The Coldest War. We will remember him always!
